Overview

A private family in Greenwich Village is seeking an experienced, Spanish-speaking Housekeeper/Nanny to provide attentive childcare alongside thoughtful household support. This role is ideal for a reliable, emotionally intuitive professional who is passionate about child development and understands the expectations of working within a private home.

The position is primarily centered around weekend coverage, with a guaranteed 40-hour workweek. Some weeks may require fewer active hours, though flexibility is essential. The ideal candidate is nurturing yet structured, proactive yet discreet, and able to anticipate needs while integrating seamlessly into the household.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, engaged care for the children during weekends and occasional weekday coverage
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of children’s bedrooms, play areas, and shared spaces through daily resets
• Handle weekend housekeeping duties, including light cleaning, laundry, and general organization
• Keep the home consistently guest-ready with strong attention to detail
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, games, reading, and outdoor play
• Encourage creativity, learning, and positive behavior within a structured and supportive environment
• Ensure the children’s safety and well-being at all times
• Accompany the family on outings and activities as needed
• Prepare simple meals and snacks for the children
• Maintain and organize children’s belongings, including toys and clothing
• Assist with light kitchen support and general weekend household upkeep
• Support packing, unpacking, and logistics for family travel

Requirements

• Prior experience in a combined housekeeping and nanny role within a private household
• Fluent Spanish speaker
• Genuine interest in supporting children’s emotional and developmental growth
• Highly reliable, responsible, and safety-focused
• Professional, discreet, and respectful of privacy
• Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and needs
• Driving ability is a plus

Schedule

• Saturday and Sunday, with flexibility for additional coverage such as date nights
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Compensation and Benefits

• Up to $45+ per hour, depending on experience
