Description

Overview

A lovely family in Greenwich Village, Manhattan is seeking an exceptional full-time nanny to care for their 9-month-old son. The schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with potential for slightly reduced hours on Mondays and Fridays if preferred. The role can be either live-in or live-out.

The parents are highly involved, and the mother enjoys being part of decisions related to her child’s care, so this role requires a collaborative, partnership-oriented approach. The ideal candidate is warm, engaging, organized, and energetic, with a love for exploring the city and creating enriching experiences for a curious and active baby. The position is available as soon as the right fit is found.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the child’s safety, health, and overall well-being at all times
  • Engage in age-appropriate developmental, educational, and play-based activities
  • Support milestones such as feeding routines, socialization, mobility, and early learning
  • Take the child to classes, parks, walks, and playdates, encouraging both indoor and outdoor engagement
  • Manage diapering and daily care routines
  • Maintain consistent schedules for naps, meals, and activities
  • Prepare and cook meals for the child
  • Monitor and communicate supply needs (clothing, essentials, etc.)
  • Keep all child-related areas organized and tidy, including toys, feeding areas, and daily-use items
  • Maintain organization of the stroller and diaper bag
  • Assist with occasional evening or weekend coverage as needed
  • Keep a daily log of feeding, naps, and activities
  • Support bathing and bedtime routines when required
  • Travel occasionally with the family, including time spent at their East Hampton home

Compensation and Benefits

  • $40–$50 per hour, depending on experience
    • Weekly hours: approximately 50–55
    • Overtime applies after 40 hours (live-out) or 44 hours (live-in)
  • Monthly healthcare stipend
  • MetroCard provided
  • Two weeks of paid vacation
  • Five paid sick days
  • Paid major holidays
  • Live-in accommodations available in a spacious three-level apartment (with elevator), with strong respect for privacy during off-hours

This is a long-term opportunity for a dedicated nanny who values collaboration, consistency, and meaningful engagement in a child’s development.
