June Temp Nanny – Atherton, CA

Overview

A loving family in Atherton, CA (Bay Area) is seeking a part-time, temporary nanny for the month of June, with the possibility of extending into July. The role will involve caring for two preschool-aged children. The schedule is ideally Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 8 hours per day, with a guaranteed 24 hours per week, though some weeks may have fewer working hours. Start time is flexible based on the nanny’s preference, ranging from as early as 7:00 AM to as late as 9:00 AM.

Responsibilities

• Provide full care for both children, including managing nap time, meals, and play
• Plan and lead engaging, play-based learning activities while both children are home from school
• Maintain child-related organization, including tidying play and eating areas, taking out diaper/child-related trash, cleaning highchairs, organizing toys and clothing, and restocking supplies such as diapers and wipes
• Follow a “clean as you go” approach, encouraging the children to participate
• Complete children’s laundry 1–2 times per week
• Drive children occasionally using the family vehicle

Qualifications

• Warm, nurturing, and engaging personality
• Team-oriented, with the ability to work alongside a stay-at-home parent, another nanny, and additional household staff
• Open to potential travel later in the summer if the role extends

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; confident driving children locally using the family car
• Comfortable managing both children independently when needed
• Dog-friendly and comfortable around a large, gentle dog
• Physically able to navigate stairs while carrying children if necessary
• Significant experience with children ages 3–7; preschool teaching experience is a plus
• TrustLine certified or willing to obtain certification
• CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Currently based in the Bay Area (relocation is not offered)

Compensation and Benefits

• $40–$46 per hour, with higher compensation considered for candidates with teaching experience
