Description

Overview

A private New York City family with a 9-month-old child is seeking a highly experienced career nanny to join their household in a rotational schedule, working one week on and one week off in partnership with another ROTA nanny. This is a long-term opportunity for a professional who is interested in growing with a family as their needs evolve. The child has been supported by a newborn care specialist and is currently sleeping through the night.

The role will initially be live-in while on duty and live-out during off weeks, with the possibility of transitioning to a fully live-out or hybrid arrangement over time. Candidates based in the NYC area are strongly preferred.

The family is seeking a nanny who brings both strong technical infant care skills and a warm, engaging presence. The ideal candidate is professional, thoughtful, calm, and highly attuned, with excellent judgment, discretion, and a collaborative approach when working with involved parents.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for a 9-month-old, including daytime care and occasional overnight support as needed
  • Prepare, plan, and serve age-appropriate meals, with attention to nutrition, safety, and developmental stages
  • Prepare and manage bottles and feedings, maintaining high standards of hygiene and consistency
  • Establish and adjust routines and schedules in collaboration with parents
  • Create and lead developmentally focused activities, play, and learning experiences, including recommending appropriate toys
  • Take the child on outings such as walks, park visits, appointments, and classes with confidence and independence
  • Manage all child-related laundry, organization, and upkeep of play and living spaces
  • Travel with the family as needed, including preparing and packing for the child and maintaining routines across locations
  • Provide light support in a mother’s-helper capacity, including small child-related errands and organization
  • Proactively prepare environments and routines while respecting parental involvement and preferences
  • Support developmental transitions, including sleep changes, regressions, and milestones, with a consistent and informed approach
  • Communicate clearly and thoughtfully with parents, providing updates, observations, and recommendations with discretion

Qualifications

Candidate Profile:

  • Professional career nanny with at least 3–5 years of recent infant care experience, including familiarity with early toddler development
  • Confident managing full daily care independently while collaborating with engaged parents
  • Energetic, proactive, and comfortable spending time outside the home on outings and activities
  • Calm, nurturing, emotionally aware, and highly reliable
  • Strong communicator with a team-oriented mindset and high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience supporting developmental transitions such as pacifier weaning and potty training is preferred
  • Bilingual skills are a plus, with a slight preference for French

Requirements

  • Valid passport and authorization to work in the United States
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Excellent, verifiable references
  • Willingness to complete a background check and drug screening
  • Current infant and child CPR certification
  • Non-smoker
  • Up-to-date vaccinations (RSV, Tdap, MMR, and Flu), with documentation available upon request

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting at $130,000+ annually, depending on experience
  • Full benefits package, including a generous healthcare stipend
  • Discretionary annual bonus

This role is well-suited for a confident, experienced nanny with strong child development knowledge who is seeking a meaningful, long-term position within a respectful and engaged household.
