Temp Summer Weekends Mother’s Helper – East Hampton, NY

Overview

A warm and attentive couple with their one-year-old child is seeking a temporary summer “mother’s helper” in East Hampton, NY. The role will run approximately from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The schedule will typically be Friday from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM, totaling around 31 hours per week, with some flexibility required. The family prefers a local, live-out candidate but may consider a live-in arrangement for the right individual. This position is available for immediate hire, and candidates must already be based within the tri-state area, as relocation is not being offered.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support in a true mother’s helper capacity
• Assist with daily care for a toddler
• Support during date nights and when the family is entertaining guests
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for the child
• Help with light household duties, including laundry, tidying the child’s spaces and common areas, and managing dishes
• Assist the mother with meal preparation
• Shop for ingredients based on provided recipes
• Run occasional errands such as grocery or pharmacy trips
• Offer support and guidance to a new mother
• Help create a calm and peaceful home environment conducive to rest and recovery

Qualifications

• Warm, nurturing, patient, and attentive
• Reliable and dependable
• Able to take initiative while respecting established routines
• Comfortable with dogs and willing to assist with occasional dog walking

Requirements

• Authorized to work in the United States
• CPR certified
• Fluent in English
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• Prior experience caring for toddlers
• Comfortable assisting with general household upkeep
• Willing to wear scrubs or a nurse-style uniform
• Respectful of boundaries and privacy within the home
• Flexible with scheduling needs
• Comfortable providing hands-on toddler care and household support

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting at $45 per hour or higher, depending on experience
