Division: Domestic / Private Estate
Location: Coconut Grove, FL 33133
Hourly: $20 - $25 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (30 hours per week; on-call as needed; weekends off)
Compensation: $20/hour (commensurate with experience) — approximately $600/week or $31,200/year
Position Overview
A private estate is seeking a Part-Time Junior Houseman to assist with the upkeep, cleanliness, and functionality of the property. Working under the Estate Manager, this hands-on role supports daily operations, general maintenance, property inspections, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, and eager to learn, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Conduct property inspections and report any issues or needed repairs
- Perform general cleaning of indoor and outdoor areas to keep the property guest-ready
- Assist with basic maintenance and repairs, including light carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical work
- Support troubleshooting of household systems (HVAC, electrical, AV, plumbing) and coordinate vendor visits
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and organized condition
- Follow direction from the Estate Manager and established household procedures
- Assist with vendor oversight and ensure all work meets quality standards
- Run errands, handle deliveries, and organize household inventory and supplies
- Provide occasional support during events, guest visits, or principal arrivals
- Ensure all gates, doors, and systems are secured at the end of shifts
- Report any safety hazards or irregularities immediately to the Estate Manager
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role within a luxury or UHNW private residence
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with household systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, AV, etc.)
- Professional, discreet, and service-oriented demeanor with excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently while taking direction
- Physically capable of performing hands-on maintenance and cleaning tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs)
- Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, or after-hours support as needed
- Valid US Work Authorization
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
