Position Overview:
A private family in Summit, NJ, is seeking a warm and reliable full-time Housekeeper/Nanny to help with household upkeep and childcare. The role includes cleaning, organizing, and family-style cooking (simple cooking).
The position is team-oriented, working alongside a live-in housekeeper (Monday–Friday) and other household staff. The ideal candidate will be flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to the family’s needs. A valid driver’s license and confidence driving are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily and deep cleaning of the home, including children’s areas and common spaces
- Handle family laundry, ironing, and wardrobe care
- Provide nurturing and attentive childcare, ensuring a safe and engaging environment
- Prepare healthy meals for the children and family, following recipes as needed
- Assist with meal service and clean-up
- Manage grocery shopping and household supply inventories
- Run errands such as returns, dry cleaning, post office visits, etc.
- Supervise children during swimming or pool activities as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a private household
- Strong, verifiable references from current and previous employers
- Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written)
- Experience caring for multiple children, including toddlers and school-aged
- Team-oriented, dependable, and adaptable
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
