Private Family in the Mt. Airy/Chestnut Hill Area Seeking an Experienced Housekeeper
Position: Full-Time or Part-Time Live-Out Housekeeper
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 9:00 AM–2:00 PM (25 hours per week). Could offer full time to someone willing to add on additional duties
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience

About the Family
A warm, welcoming family in the Mt. Airy/Chestnut Hill area is seeking an experienced, proactive, and energetic Housekeeper to become a long-term part of their home. The family values positivity, reliability, and someone who naturally takes initiative without needing to be micromanaged.
They are looking for a self-starter who treats the home as if it were their own — someone who notices what needs attention, stays ahead of household needs, and takes pride in maintaining a beautifully run home. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, “chirpy” with good energy, and enjoys creating a clean, calm, and well-functioning environment.
The family travels often and has pets in the home, so flexibility for occasional pet care and possible overnight stays while the family is away would be a huge plus. They also travel to San Francisco regularly and are planning to purchase a home in Tennessee, so future travel flexibility would be appreciated, though not required.
Their son is currently living at home but will be leaving for college in the summer.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and overall organization of the home to the highest standards
- Daily upkeep of kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, dishes, laundry, beds, and common areas
- Laundry care, ironing, and coordinating dry cleaning drop-off/pick-up
- Meal prep assistance including preparing smoothies and simple healthy foods
- Assist with household organization projects such as closets, storage areas, and household systems
- Stay on top of household inventory and restocking supplies as needed
- Run errands including shipping returns/packages, dry cleaners, and household-related tasks
- Provide light pet care and assist during family travel periods when needed
- Proactively identify areas of the home that need attention or improvement
Ideal Candidate & Personality
The ideal candidate is upbeat, dependable, highly organized, and enjoys being an integral part of a household long-term. The family is specifically looking for someone who takes initiative and does not require constant direction. Someone who naturally says, “This closet could use organizing,” or notices ways to improve household efficiency would thrive in this role.
The family deeply values consistency and hopes to find someone looking for a stable, long-term position rather than frequent turnover.
Requirements
- Prior long-term experience working in private homes with excellent references
- Strong housekeeping, laundry, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Comfortable around pets and willing to assist with light pet care
- Reliable transportation and ability to run errands
- Flexible and dependable with a positive attitude
- Willingness to occasionally stay overnight during family travel is a strong plus
- Flexibility for possible future travel is appreciated but not required
